My little baby boy is all grown up! It's hard to believe it's already been a year, but what a wonderful year it's been. We have loved every minute of it and can't wait to see what the next few years will bring. Emerson is now just shy of 24 lbs, 32 inches tall, and has 6 teeth. He's walking and getting into everything he possibly can and hates to be told "no". He knows a few baby signs (more, all done, out, eat) but will only use them when it suits him, which is rarely. He says "mama", "dada", "ball", and "nana" and loves to wave to people (he waves every time someone leaves the room lol). He loves books, cars, balls, and tupperware (he likes to hide things in it). It's so fun just to watch him play and explore.
He's such a smart little cookie!

On Monday, the 20th, we had a small party at the splash park here in town and invited a few close friends - he had a blast.
The theme was based off this Mod Monkey design I had seen in a magazine and really liked so I copied it and made my own :)
Our invitations were these little cans I decorated and stuffed with goodies

Instead of a regular cake and ice cream, I made ice cream cone cupcakes :)
I even made him a cute little shirt to match the theme!
After about an hour, the kids were getting chilled so they all headed over to the playground for awhile.
Then we gathered all the kids together to sing "Happy Birthday" and eat cupcakes.
Emerson had his cupcake in his mouth before we even finished the song!

it worked out great cus he could hold it all by himself.
lucky me - he gave me a big icing kiss!
all done!
presents!
He got some super cute clothes, a big blue ball, a banana (which devoured almost instantly), and some little animal cars. Thank you Everyone!
I wanted to make these cute little monkey cookies for everyone, but they took WAY longer than I thought they would so i only made enough for the kids. As they left the party, they each got to take one home :)

After the party, he came home and slept for 3 hours - what a fun day!

Brady had to work on Emerson's actual birthday and I was tending the girls again, but I still wanted it to be fun and special for him.
I put out some new toys in the living room and they all played together for most of the morning. It's so fun to watch them interact with one another.
We had hot dogs and cheese for lunch - emerson's favorite :)
That afternoon I took the kids into Henderson and we stopped at the pet store to play with the puppies. Emerson had a blast with this crazy pit bull. The dog would bark and jump up and down and he would start laughing so hard - it was so cute!
They had an itty bitty beagle puppy there that they let us play with - the kids LOVED her - she was so cute and tiny!
When we got home, I put the kiddos down for their naps and decorated the dining room - nothing too fancy, but cute enough.
janika volunteered to make his cake - chocolate with vanilla icing and a cute little george on top :)
We had pizza for dinner (another favorite of his) - he ate the whole slice!
After singing and blowing out the candles (which mommy had to do before he grabbed to flames), he dove into his cake. It was gone almost instantly. lol
finally, more presents!
All in all, it was a great day. I hope he enjoyed it as much as we did!
Love and Hugs to all our friends and family elsewhere -
Wish you could have been here to celebrate with us!
XOXO
